About Opus 48 Auditions
Every member of the choir is auditioned personally by David. Each audition lasts around 10 minutes and is fairly relaxed.
When? |
Auditions for our 2024-25 season will happen at the beginning of each term by appointment with our MD, David Crown. Prospective members also are encouraged to join us for our Workshop Day at the start of the term to get a flavour of what the choir's about too!
The next dates for audition are:
You can book an audition slot directly using the form below. |
What? |
The audition will consist of some vocalising exercises (designed to test your range and pitch), a short piece of sight reading and David will ask you to sing a pre-prepared extract from a chosen work (available below).
|
How good do I have to be? |
David is looking for singers who can comfortably sing the ranges appropriate for their voice part, who have a good ear for pitch and a good degree of musicianship. However, Opus 48 is not looking for the finished article; we know that our singers will grow and improve during the rehearsal process, so we're looking for potential, and an enthusiasm for music!
|
Which voice part should I audition for? |
If you sing regularly and have a preference for singing a particular part, then let us know. David will be able to assess your voice individually and advise on how to get the best from your instrument. You may be surprised at what you're capable of!
